Our Meet the Makers four-course dinner pairs the bold flavors of Laramita Cellars wines and Whiskey Del Bac with the culinary creations of La Luz Restaurant’s Executive Chef Devin Pinto.

This is more than just a meal; this special event is designed not only to celebrate exceptional craftsmanship but also to create meaningful connections. It’s a chance to break bread with fellow guests, engage with the makers behind the wines and whiskey, and discover the passion that goes into every bottle and pour. The evening kicks off with a welcome reception where you’ll enjoy a delightful selection of appetizers and amuse-bouches, served with a libation of your choice from Laramita Cellars or Whiskey Del Bac, setting the stage for a night of connection and celebration. This relaxed gathering gives you the perfect opportunity to mingle, meet fellow guests, and get ready for the unforgettable dinner ahead.

Embark on a curated journey through thoughtfully paired courses that showcase the season’s flavors and the artistry behind each drink or pour. As the night unfolds, you’ll have the rare opportunity to engage directly with the makers themselves—the founders of Laramita Cellars and the Master Distiller & Blender at Whiskey Del Bac—learning about the passion, history, and inspiration that drive their craft. From delicate day boat scallops with Viognier to rich, coffee-rubbed short rib paired with Whiskey Del Bac Dorado, the menu evolves as a celebration of flavor, balance, and artistry. The evening concludes with a decadent Whiskey Del Bac Dark Chocolate and Orange Marmalade Pecan Tart, marking the perfect finale to a night of breaking bread and building lasting friendships.

Born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas, Mark has been in the spirits industry for 14 years, distilling eight of them, and our head distiller for the past three. “The stories Whiskey Del Bac tells through our whiskeys resonate,” Mark said. “We work to simultaneously honor the culinary and libationary history of Tucson while helping forge new ground with our uniquely Sonoran-inspired whiskeys. To be able to work with such an amazing team – from production to sales to marketing to leadership to front of house to our amazing customers – is a huge honor.”

Greg’s path to creating Laramita Cellars was fueled by a love for wine, history, and the spirit of southeastern Arizona. While many wineries are named after families, mountains, or fanciful ideas, Greg sought something deeper—something that reflected the rustic charm, wide‑open landscapes, and Spanish heritage of the region. After a few false starts (and more than one letter from lawyers), inspiration came from local history. “Laramita” pays tribute to Arizona’s first port of entry from Mexico, a town that now exists only as a marker near Douglas but finds new life through Greg’s winery. For him, the name—just like the wine—captures a true sense of place.
